About the event

This project aims to develop fine motor skills, co-ordination and teamwork. It seems easy at first - with participants asked to stack cups on top of each other… except they can’t use any part of their body. For younger students - giving them the “tool” created is sufficient (string/yarn already tied to the elastic band) - for older students, offer them the individual elements (elastic band, string/yarn) and ask them to try and work out how to combine them to find a solution.

Materials Required (not supplied)

  • 3+ Plastic Cups (any "party cup" type is ok)
  • 1 Elastic Band (normal medium size)
  • 4+ 10-20cm pieces of yarn/string (2 per person)

Please ensure you have materials ready and to hand before the start of the workshop.

Minimum of 2 - Maximum of 6

We will guide you through the steps to build this project. The workshop build will take approximately 30-45 minutes and we will be available for questions afterwards.
